To me, there is nothing more serene than walking through a redwood grove. We’re lucky enough to live just a short drive away from some amazing spots. The most well known is Muir Woods, and while it’s a magical spot, it can often become overcrowded on the weekends.
We decided to explore a different area and drove up to Larkspur to hike Dawn Falls. The second we turned onto the road that led to the trailhead, we knew we had found something special. The entire road that led to the trail had been created around all the redwoods. There were mini redwood grooves surrounding the houses and in the street!
We parked and made the short walk to the trailhead. The lush green ferns brushed our legs as we set foot into our new discovery. The redwoods towered above our heads. This was just the remedy I needed after a stressful work week.
The falls were pretty dry, but I can imagine it gets moving pretty good after a few days of rain.
